ANI RAMOS INDUCTED INTO JACKALS HALL OF FAME
PATERSON, NJ - The New Jersey Jackals are proud to announce the addition of four-time champion coach Ani Ramos to the Jackals Hall Of Fame.
The Havana, Cuba native was the Bullpen Coach for the team for 18 years between 1998 and 2016. Ramos is the only player or coach with four championship rings in the 27 year history of the Jackals. He grew up locally and played baseball at Passaic High School before transferring to Pope Pius XII and then attending Ramapo College.
"I thought John was calling to see if I was interested in coaching again," Ramos said. I was flattered and excited when he told me about this induction. I've always loved helping young players get better at their craft."
Ramos now lives in Verona, NJ and owns the Ani Ramos Catching Academy which has sent many players to college and professional baseball.
He is the proud father of Alexa Ramos who served as a Jackals intern for four years and now works in the MLB Commissioner's Office in New York City as the Manager Of Youth Content.
"I was doing tons of homework as we rebuild the culture and history of the Jackals," Jackals General Manager John Hunt said. When asking around, the name Ani Ramos came up over and over. Ani embodies everything I believe in with his hard work and dedication. We are excited for May 16th and invite everyone who knows him to join us for the big celebration."
Other members of the Hall include Yogi Berra, Ed Ott, Craig Breslow, Zach Smithlin, Joel Bennett and Ed Ott.
This is the first induction to the Jackals Hall Of Fame since 2016. The ceremony will take place at 5:45 p.m. prior to the Jackals contest against the Down East Bird Dogs.
