KNOCKOUTS BEAT AIGLES TO CAPTURE FIRST SERIES IN FRANCHISE HISTORY

TROIS-RIVIERES, CANADA - The New England Knockouts beat the Trois-Rivières Aigles 10-7 on Sunday to capture their first-ever series win.

The Knockouts (3-5) tied the game in the eighth inning and scored three runs in the ninth to take two out of three from the Aigles (4-4) on the road. C Brady West started things in the first for New England with an RBI double. A wild pitch in the second allowed the Knockouts to tack on another run, but the Aigles responded in the third to tie the game at 2-2. SS JR DiSarcina tallied an RBI in each of the next two innings as the Knockouts regained the lead at 6-2. After getting one back in the sixth, the Aigles came out with an attitude in the seventh putting up a four-spot to take a 7-6 lead. West hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth to tie the game, and then the Knockouts strung together four consecutive hits in the ninth to drive in three runs and make it 10-7. RHP Reeves Martin finished the game out of the New England bullpen, getting the win after tossing 2.2 scoreless innings where he only allowed one hit. RHP Mitchell Millano took responsibility for the loss.

The Knockouts will begin a homestand on Tuesday, facing off with the New Jersey Jackals at 6:30 PM EDT. The Aigles will be back in action at Stade Quillorama on Tuesday when they host the New York Boulders. First pitch is at 7:05 PM EDT.

CRUSHERS WALK IT OFF FOR THE THIRD TIME THIS WEEK

AVON, OH - After being no-hit on Saturday, the Lake Erie Crushers responded with a 1-0 walk-off win to defeat the Québec Capitales on Sunday.

For the second time in the series, the Crushers (7-2) sent the Capitales (4-5) out of Crusher Stadium on a walk-off home run in the ninth. The game was a pitcher's duel for the most part, with Lake Erie's RHP Anthony Escobar going pitch-for-pitch with Québec RHP Sam Ryan. Escobar went six full innings, allowing no runs on just two hits while striking out seven. Ryan was equally good, only giving up one hit in six shutout innings with six punchouts. Both teams combined for just seven hits, with the Capitales having a slight advantage. The game was slotted to go into extras before 1B Vincent Byrd Jr. stepped into the box with one out in the ninth. Byrd cranked a solo homer over the right-field wall, giving the Crushers the win while taking yet another series to keep pace in the Frontier League West. The Crushers are now just a half-game behind the Schaumburg Boomers for the division lead and have yet to lose a series in 2024.

The Crushers will hit the road to face the Windy City ThunderBolts in Crestwood on Tuesday. First pitch for that game is scheduled for 11:35 PM EDT. The Capitales will host the Sussex County Miners at Stade Canac on Tuesday, starting at 7:05 PM EDT.

RHP Austin Parsley got tagged with the loss for New Jersey after allowing four runs in his five innings of work. WILD THINGS SWEEP VALLEYCATS, REMAIN UNDEFEATED ON THE ROAD

TROY, NY - The Washington Wild Things defeated the Tri-City ValleyCats 5-3 on Sunday.

The Wild Things (5-3) greeted the ValleyCats (3-6) harshly, leading off the game with a single from CF Caleb McNeely. SS Carson Clowers then brought home his teammate with a two-run blast. Clowers then scored a run in the third inning off a double from 3B Tommy Caufield. LF Quincy Latimore homered in the fifth to make it 4-0. The Otters (4-6) were able to jump out to an early lead against the Slammers (3-6) and rode their bullpen to a five-run victory to take the series finale. Evansville scored in the first inning off of an RBI groundout from C Justin Felix, and then doubled their lead off of a Patrick Lee RBI double; the Evansville 1B later hit a three-run jack in eight to put Joliet away for good. The Otters relied heavily on their bullpen, giving four different relievers the ball throughout the game. RHP Pat Miner took the win for Evansville, allowing one unearned run off three hits in two complete innings. The next three relievers would not allow a hit and the Evansville pitching staff combined for 13 strikeouts in the victory. RHP Dwayne Marshall ended up with the losing decision for Joliet.
