SUSSEX COUNTY TO HOST BRET LEUTHNER MEMORIAL GAME, FIREWORKS, AND PICNIC

The Sussex County Miners proudly announce the Bret Leuthner Memorial Fireworks Celebration and Game on May 11th, 2024, dedicated to honoring the legacy of Bret Leuthner and supporting his three children.

The highlight of the evening will be the Bret Leuthner Memorial Fireworks, a spectacular display of lights and colors that will illuminate the sky in memory of Bret Leuthner.  Bret served as the Miners' broadcaster since the 2016 season and passed away on December 31, 2023.  He was recognized as Broadcaster of the Year in the Frontier League last season.

Prior to the game, the Miners will host a memorial Picnic, providing attendees with the opportunity to contribute to the cause. 50% of every picnic ticket sale will be allocated directly to the Bret Leuthner Children's Fund.

The Custodial Trust Fund, managed by the Leuthner Children's Guardian, has been set up exclusively for the benefit of the children. Any proceeds generated during the fundraiser and the commemorative event will be channeled directly into this fund, ensuring the financial security and well-being of the Leuthner children.

Emphasizing the long-term vision of this initiative, the funds will remain untouched until the children reach the age of 21. Contributions to the trust will be made on an annual basis until the designated age is reached.

In addition to this meaningful event, the Miners play a 96-game schedule from May to early September, with their 48 scheduled home games at Skylands Stadium in Augusta, NJ.

The ambitious goal for the entire night is to raise over $10,000 for the Leuthner Children Fund.
