EVANSVILLE OTTERS 2024 SEASON TEAM PREVIEW

EVANSVILLE OTTERS 2024 SEASON TEAM PREVIEW

The Evansville Otters begin the year with a chip on their shoulder, one win shy of their third Frontier League Championship last September. Once again led by field manager Andy McCauley, the Otters aim to bring a familiar style of baseball to Bosse Field this year - consistently good pitching, big hitters and elite defense.

Despite losing Jake Polancic and Adam Smith to MLB signings this offseason, the Otters' pitching staff remains strong all the way through the bullpen. Key returners to the pitching staff include LHPs Braden Scott and Leoni De La Cruz (2023 FL All-Star) and RHPs Jon Beymer, Parker Brahms and Zach Smith. A new member of the staff to keep an eye out for is RHP Casey Delgado, a multi-year New York Mets affiliate player in years past.

As for the starting nine, a few new faces are expected to emerge across the diamond including OF Mauro Bonifacio and INF Riley Delgado. The big bat of Jomar Reyes returns for his second season in Evansville, where he hit for a .301 average last season with 31 extra-base hits and 47 RBIs. Expect to see the speedy outfielder Bryan Rosario stealing bags once again this summer, after he broke the Otters' single-season stolen base record last year.
