KNOCKOUTS ANNOUNCE COACHING STAFF FOR INAUGURAL SEASON

KNOCKOUTS ANNOUNCE COACHING STAFF FOR INAUGURAL SEASON

The New England Knockouts have announced their coaching staff for the 2024 season. All coaches on the roster are first-time coaches in the Frontier League.

The staff is led by first-year Manager Jerod Edmondson. Edmondson previously served as the Head Coach of Saint Anslem College from 2020-2023. There, his team set a program record for home runs (57) that had not been broken since 2001. Prior, he also served as the Hitting Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for UMass Lowell. His major coaching career began in 2014, where he was promoted to Interim Head Coach of Framingham State University.

As a professional, Edmondson played in the Canadian-American (Can-Am) Association from 2007-2014. He is still tied for the league record in doubles (166). He also ranks 2nd all-time in Cam-Am hits (751) and runs scored (445).

Edmondson is joined by his brother Chris Edmondson, who will serve as the team's Hitting Coach. Chris Edmondson played four years at LeMoyne College, eventually being drafted into the MLB by the St. Louis Cardinals. After stints with the Rockland Boulders (Can-Am) and Atlanta Braves, he became an assistant at UMass Lowell.

The Knockouts' Pitching Coaches consist of Dan Sausville, the team's primary Pitching Coach, and Chuck Hernandez, New England's Pitching Consultant. Sausville played and graduated from the University of New Haven in 2006. He went on to play for the Quebec Capitales, winning four Cam-Am titles. Sausville eventually retired and opened his own coaching practice called Sauce Baseball, which remained in operation for seven years.

Chuck Hernandez is a seasoned veteran in Major League Baseball. He served 14 years as the pitching coach for several MLB organizations, including the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves. He also coached big names such as Justin Verlander and Jose Fernandez, developing them into their respective Rookie of the Year campaigns.

The Knockouts are set to open their inaugural season on Friday, May 10th against the Ottawa Titans. Tickets for opening day can be purchased at https://tickets.knockoutsbaseball.com
