CAPITALES TO HONOR TEAM FOUNDER MILES WOLFF

CAPITALES TO HONOR TEAM FOUNDER MILES WOLFF

As part of the 25th anniversary, the Québec Capitales are proud to announce a tribute day in honor of Mr. Miles Wolff, the founding father of the team. It is on Friday, July 19 that the Capitals will highlight and celebrate the important legacy of the former owner in the rich history of the Québec team. Mr. Wolff will also inaugurate the Wall of Excellence in the corridors of Stade Canac.

Seduced by his meetings with Jean-François Côté and André Lachance, two young enthusiasts of junior baseball, Miles Wolff jumped with enthusiasm and conviction into the adventure of the return of professional baseball to Québec. The monetary investment and passion of the businessman ensure the future and create unforgettable moments for the people of Québec. While preserving the main traditions of baseball, Miles Wolff innovates by implementing the concept of independent baseball here. This forges its identity and today constitutes the charm of the Stadium and the atmosphere that inhabits it.

"Miles Wolff came to Québec with the desire to settle there with his family and integrate into Québec culture," mentions Michel Laplante. He saw potential and had a vision. I was among the privileged people with whom he shared it. In the late 90s, new sports markets sought eccentricity. Miles Wolff, for his part, wanted to revive baseball of yesteryear in a historic stadium. We understand its full meaning today. He was willing to suffer short-term losses to sow long-term seeds."

It is with a strong attachment to the organization and the city that Miles Wolff accepts this honor. "Québec has always been a special place for me," he exclaims. We lived in the city for 10 years and we have wonderful memories." The love of Capitales for the founding father is still as alive as ever. "I still pay attention to the team's performance," he insists. It's the only team I really watch. The last season was particularly exciting."

We invite you to come and pay tribute to one of the most important figures in the rich history of the Capitales de Québec.
