KNOCKOUTS ADD NEW ENGLAND NATIVE CHASE JETER

The New England Knockouts have signed left-handed pitcher Chase Jeter to a Frontier League contract. This is Jeter's first professional contract.

Jeter, 24 years old, joins New England with a plethora of experience in the NCAA. To be specific, Jeter brings five total years in the NCAA, as well as five different stints in summer baseball. His most recent season hails from Bryant University. During his graduate year, Jeter tossed nearly 47 innings of work. His season was complemented by 5.59 ERA, along with 43 strikeouts.

The 5'-11", 185-pounder spent three undergraduate seasons at Sacred Heart University. However, he only appeared in two seasons due to NCAA transfer rules. Between his junior and senior seasons, Jeter posted 82 strikeouts in 112 total innings. He also started in 22 of his 25 appearances.

Before his time with the Pioneers, Jeter spent his freshman campaign with Dartmouth College (Ivy League). He only appeared in five games, striking out five batters across 9.1 innings.

Other than collegiate ball, Jeter spent five total summers playing extra baseball. He began with the Westfield Starfires of the Futures League. During 2019 and 2020, Jeter started in 15 games, throwing an impressive 2.35 ERA across 81 innings. He also pitched two seasons for the Falmouth Commodores (Cape Cod Baseball League), accumulating a near sub-one ERA in 2022. He concluded his summer days with the Trenton Thunder (MLB Draft League) in 2023.

Chase Jeter is a native of West Hartford, Connecticut. His high school days were spent at Hall High School, a branch of the Sacred Heart program. Jeter played all four years of baseball, becoming a letterwinner in three of those seasons. The high-school standout also won several awards, including First Team All-Central Connecticut Conference, Class LL All-State First Team, and All-Academic Team. Jeter also threw an 83-pitch perfect game with 15 strikeouts during his junior year.

The Knockouts are set to open their inaugural season on Friday, May 10th against the Ottawa Titans. Tickets for opening day can be purchased at https://tickets.knockoutsbaseball.com
