JORDAN DIVALERIO WINS PITCHER OF THE WEEK
AUGUST 5, 2024 – Jordan DiValerio of the Washington Wild Things has been honored as the Frontier League Pitcher of the Week.
Right-hander Jordan DiValerio delivered a masterful performance against the Miners on Saturday, pitching a complete-game shutout while only allowing two hits. Along with pitching nine innings, the Berwick, Pennsylvania native struck out five and did not allow a walk. DiValerio's shutout was the first of his Wild Things career and his seventh win of the season.
DiValerio has quietly put together an impressive rookie campaign for the Wild Things, ranking second on the team and third in the league in wins with seven. He previously spent time with the Boston Red Sox organization from 2021-2023 where he collected 208 strikeouts in 213.2 innings. So far this season, he has made 15 starts and averages over six innings per start. He, along with former weekly award winners Dariel Fregio and Kobe Foster, have highlighted one of the best pitching staffs in the Frontier League this season.
