CHRISTIAN FEDKO WINS PLAYER OF THE WEEK!
JUNE 24, 2024 - Christian Fedko has been selected as the Frontier League Player of the Week from the Schaumburg Boomers.
Christian Fedko covered multiple positions during last week's games for the Boomers, splitting time between his normal third-base spot and the outfield. During this stretch, he went 12-for-20 at the plate with four doubles, a triple, and a two-run home run. Fedko also drew six walks while only striking out once all week. His best personal performance at the plate came during the opening game against the Washington Wild Things on Friday; Fedko went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run, registering three RBIs. He completed his week with a .600 AVG/.652 OBP/1.050 SLG split and three stolen bases.
Fedko is in his second year in the Frontier League after coming out of the University of Connecticut in 2022. He was originally signed by the Joliet Slammers in 2023 and was picked up by the Boomers this past offseason. The 26-year-old has already surpassed his home run total from last season and is currently batting .383 with 25 RBIs. He has also improved his K/BB ratio this season, compiling 20 walks to just eight strikeouts.
