TYREQUE REED WINS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

JULY 29, 2024 - Tyreque Reed of the Washington Wild Things has won Player of the Week.

Washington Wild Things' slugger Tyreque Reed has won Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks after leading the league in total hits (11) while driving in four runs and sporting a 4-to-2 walk-to-strikeout ratio. Reed came away from last week ranked third in batting average (.579), on-base percentage (.625), and slugging (.947) after going 11-for-19 at the plate in six games. His week included two games where he was not retired at the plate, namely Saturday's game against the New York Boulders where he went 2-for-2 with two walks and a home run. Reed ended the week with two home runs, four RBIs, and a double as he helped Washington to a 4-2 record.

Reed's July has been nothing short of jaw-dropping in terms of his offensive production. Since the month began, he has led the Wild Things in nearly every statistical category including average, slugging, hits, RBIs, home runs, and total bases. The Wild Things currently sit in first place in the Frontier League West, thanks in no small part to the now two-time Player of the Week.
