ARLO MARYNCZAK WINS PITCHER OF THE WEEK
AVON, OH - Arlo Marynczak of the Tri-City ValleyCats has been named the Frontier League Pitcher of the Week.
Right-hander Arlo Marynczak was a key part of helping to secure Tri-City's spot in the Frontier League Playoffs this past week, tossing seven scoreless innings against New Jersey on Thursday while striking out a career-high 12 hitters. Marynczakallowed just six baserunners after sitting down the first dozen batters in order in the longest start of his career.
Marynczak brings home the second weekly pitching award for Tri-City, with Jhon Vargas claiming Pitcher of the Week in the final week of May. The right-hander has split time as both a starter and a reliever this season, with Thursday marking just his 10th start of the year. In his rookie season with Tri-City, Marynczak has compiled a respectable 3.67 ERA in 76 innings spread out across 22 appearances. His effect from the mound can be seen even more clearly in his 10.18 strikeouts-per-nine-innings.
