DEYLEN MILEY WINS PITCHER OF THE WEEK
JULY 15, 2024 - Right-hander Deylen Miley of the Gateway Grizzlies put together one of the best starts of his season against the Windy City ThunderBolts this past Wednesday, going for six shutout innings while matching a career-high 12 strikeouts in the first game of a doubleheader. Miley struck out at least one batter in every inning while striking out two or more hitters in five of the six frames he pitched in.
Miley is the second consecutive Grizzly to take home a weekly award, winning Pitcher of the Week after Peter Zimmermann took home Player of the Week previously. In his first season in the Frontier League, the former member of the Houston Astros organization has registered double-digit strikeouts in four of his 11 starts and leads the league with 90 punchouts in just 58.1 innings.
