JALEN MILLER WINS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
AUGUST 5, 2024 – Jalen Miller from the Washington Wild Things has been selected as the Frontier League Player of the Week.
Jalen Miller has taken on a larger role for the Wild Things since the All-Star break and it came to fruition over the past week both in the field and at the plate. The 27-year-old infielder went 11-for-24 in his at-bats while playing five errorless games at second base. He capped the weekend with a huge game against the Sussex County Miners on Sunday, going 3-for-4 with two home runs, two RBIs, and a stolen base. Miller ended his week with an impressive .458 AVG/.500 OBP/.917 SLG split-stat line while homering three times and doubling twice.
Miller is a former third-round draft selection of the San Francisco Giants and has been playing professionally since he was 18. This is his first weekly honor as a member of the Frontier League and the Washington Wild Things. He is the third different offensive player from Washington to win a weekly award, joining Andrew Czech and Tyreque Reed.
