FORMER MLB HURLER JARED WRIGHT NAMED THUNDERBOLTS PITCHING COACH

Former MLB pitcher and 1st round draft pick Jaret Wright has been named the new pitching coach for Windy City.  Wright enters his first season in the Frontier League working along his former Cleveland teammate Richie Sexson.

Jaret Wright was the 10th overall player selected in the 1994 MLB draft and quickly rose through Cleveland's system.  Wright made his MLB debut on June 24, 1997, eventually making 16 starts with an 8-3 record and 4.38 ERA for the Central Division champions.  He made an additional five starts (3-0 record) in the 1997 postseason, including game 7 of the World Series.

Sexson and Wright were teammates from 1997-2000, winning the Central Division title the first three seasons.  Wright remained in Cleveland through the 2002 season and finished his career with San Diego, Atlanta, the Yankees, and Baltimore.  He won division titles with the Braves in 2003-04 and New York in 2006.  Wright appeared in 226 games over his 10-year MLB career, finishing with a 68-60 record, two saves, 5.09 ERA, and 4.4 WAR.
