BOOMERS ADD TO 2022 ROSTER
The Schaumburg Boomers have added two players to the roster for the 2022 season. Samuel Claycamp and Parker Stohr are set to join the defending Frontier League Champions.
Claycamp, the native out of Columbus, IN, will be playing in his first year with the Boomers. In his his college career, Claycamp played one year at the University of Dayton before transferring to Franklin College in Franklin, IN. Claycamp batted .350 with a .464 on-base percentage in 136 games. He was also named HCAC All-Conference 2017-2019 and All-Region 2018-2019. In 2021, Claycamp played for the Lexington Legends, a member of the Atlantic League, where he batted .186 with a .319 on-base percentage in 56 games.
"I am really looking forward to seeing Sam come in and compete for this club. He has shown some consistency in his career, and I've heard a lot of good things. His versatility on defense will also be an asset for us", said Manager Jamie Bennett.
RHP Parker Stohr signed his first pro contract with the Boomers for 2022. Stohr played his entire college career at Mayville State University, located in Mayville, North Dakota. Stohr appeared in 26 games for the Comets baseball team with 109.1 innings pitched. In those 109.1 innings, Stohr struck out 135 batters with a 2.72 ERA for his college career.
"Parker has always been a strike-thrower with consistent success at the college level. His ability to work the strike zone with several pitches should make him a very capable competitor for us. I look forward to having him here and seeing him work," said Manager Jamie Bennett.
The Boomers return home to Wintrust Field in the spring looking to defend their 2021 Frontier League Championship.
