CRUSHERS PITCHER & OHIO NATIVE PEREZ SIGNS WITH DETROIT

The Lake Erie Crushers, who are presented by Akron's Children Hospital, announced that Orrville, Ohio native and Crushers' relief pitcher J.T. Perez has been signed by the Detroit Tigers organization.

Perez, who played his collegiate baseball at the University of Cincinnati, appeared in 42 games for Lake Erie last season, establishing a 2.41 ERA while striking out 67 hitters in 52.1 innings pitched.  Perez was originally drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 2018 June draft.

The Lake Erie Crushers will open their 2022 campaign with exhibition games at Mercy Health Stadium on Thursday, May 5 and Saturday, May 7, with the regular season home opener scheduled for Friday, May 13.
