TITANS ADD THREE TO 2022 LINEUP

The Ottawa Titans Baseball Club announced today that the team has signed left-handed pitcher Kevin Escorcia, along with infielders Clay Fisher and David Maberry for the 2022 Frontier League season.

Escorcia, 27, comes to the Nation's Capital after spending the 2021 season with the American Association's Gary SouthShore RailCats.

The 6-foot-1-inch left-hander tossed 8.1 innings last season, going 0-1 with a 9.72 ERA. Born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, Escorcia will enter his ninth season of professional baseball in 2022.

Signed as an international free agent in 2013, Escorcia reached high-A in the Chicago White Sox organization, before being released in 2019.

The southpaw pitched to a 23-12 record over 158 appearances in seven seasons of affiliated ball, posting a 3.40 ERA and impressive 10.6 k/9.

Fisher, 26, joins the Titans after spending the last season with the Pioneer League's Missoula PaddleHeads.

The 6-foot-1-inch infielder hit .405 with 19 home runs and 71 RBI in 61 games.

Drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 12th round of the 2019 MLB Draft, Fisher was assigned to the short-season New York-Penn League's Aberdeen IronBirds. In 48 games, the La Quinta, California native posted a .217 average, three home runs, and 18 RBI.

A graduate of UC Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara, California), Fisher was ranked the 14th best shortstop in D1Baseball's positional power rankings. After coming off Tommy John surgery in 2018, Fisher hit .294 in 53 games during his senior season.

Maberry, 23, comes to the Nation's Capital after being acquired in a trade from the Pioneer League's Ogden Raptors.

The Shalimar, Florida native started 2021 with Valdosta State University (Valdosta, Georgia), posting a monstrous .356 average with seven home runs in 35 games. He joined the Raptors following the college the season, appearing in 74 games hitting a league-leading .412 amongst qualified hitters, with 10 home runs, and 73 RBI.

A right-handed hitter and thrower, Maberry will enter his second season of professional baseball in 2022. In his first professional at-bat, the 6-foot-2-inch 245-pound Maberry clubbed a grand slam in a 10-3 win.

In other news, the Titans have acquired RHP Michael Slaten from the Sioux City Explorers of the American Association in exchange for a PTBNL. Slaten was later traded to the Schaumburg Boomers in exchange for future considerations.

The Ottawa Titans are scheduled to hit the field in late spring of 2022 playing in the Frontier League, a partner league of Major League Baseball.
