JÉRÔME DUCHESNEAU BECOMES GENERAL MANAGER FOR TROIS-RIVIÈRES

JÉRÔME DUCHESNEAU BECOMES GENERAL MANAGER FOR TROIS-RIVIÈRES

The President of the Aigles de Trois-Rivières, René Martin, is proud to announce the appointment of Jérôme Duchesneau as general manager – sales and baseball.

Duchesneau succeeds Simon Laliberté and at the same time becomes the fifth general manager of the Trois-Rivières club since its beginnings in 2013. He will be supported by Frédérik Bélanger who will now hold the position of general manager of operations.

Holder of a bachelor's degree in entrepreneurial studies and a master's degree in business management, Duchesneau will certainly be able to bring his expertise to Stade Quillorama.

In his career on the diamond, the new GM of the Aigles also played 13 games in the professional ranks, with the Capitales of Québec, between 2015 and 2017, in addition to having played his junior baseball with the Diamonds of Québec within the Québec Elite Junior Baseball League.

"It is a real privilege and a great honor for me to become the general manager of a professional baseball organization. I grew up and evolved in the Québec market, but know that as of today, I have the Aigles' logo tattooed on my heart and I am determined to make this operation the top throughout the Frontier League."

For the President of the Aigles, this appointment will solidify the organization, after a very satisfactory 2022 campaign at the administrative level.

"We are delighted and blessed to be able to add someone of Jérôme's caliber to our organization. This is an addition that fits perfectly with Frédérik Bélanger and our entire team. Jérôme knows the world of baseball and the business world, so his arrival is a real home run," says René Martin.

Among the main challenges that appear on Duchesneau's dashboard, we find at the top of the list the celebrations surrounding the 10th anniversary of the Trois-Rivières Aigles. He will also work to solidify baseball operations.

In his role as General Manager – Sales and Baseball, Jérôme Duchesneau will be supported by an experienced team in preparation for the 2023 season. Vincent Gauthier will take over as communications manager. Then, Marc-André Marineau will also join the administrative team. Kersia's sales representative has been with the team since its inception and will now support President René Martin in several projects, as Vice President - Special Projects. For his part, manager Matthew Rusch will continue to oversee the preparation of his roster for his second campaign at the helm of the Aigles.

"With the addition of Jérôme, who is joining me with Fredérik, I wanted to bet on someone with experience in communications. This is why I am delighted with the arrival of Vincent. In addition, I absolutely wanted to officially onboard Marc-André Marineau in the organization chart of the Aigles. He has been with the team since its founding in 2013. He has the ideal contacts and skills to enable us to achieve more with the team. So I thought it was important to add him to our administrative team," says President Martin.

The Aigles will begin the second season of their history in the Frontier League on Friday, May 12 leading into their home opener on Tuesday, May 23 against the Lake Erie Crushers.
