OTTAWA’S JACKIE URBAEZ AND EVANSVILLE’S JUSTIN WATLAND TAKE WEEKLY AWARDS

July 4, 2022 – Jackie Urbaez of the Ottawa Titans had an impressive week despite the team dropping four of their last 7 games. Urbaez collected 11 hits, 13 runs, six home runs, 12 RBI with a .366 average over the past week which included a doubleheader in against New York. Urbaez collected three of his six home runs on June 29th against the New Jersey Jackals and finished 4-5 in the game. Urbaez currently owns a .322 AVG, .428 OBP and a .510 SLG.

Justin Watland of the Evansville Otters appeared in two games this week against the Joliet Slammers and Gateway Grizzlies and earned wins for both games. On June 28th, Watland pitched through seven scoreless innings while striking out 11 batters and allowing just one hit. On July 3rd, Watland pitched a complete game allowing just four hits, two earned runs and struck out 10 batters. Watland finished the week pitching 16 innings, allowing five hits, walking nine batters, striking out 21 and finishing the week with a 1.13 ERA. Watland leads the league with 68 strikeouts this season.
