QUEBEC DEFEATS OTTAWA TO MOVE ONTO CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES FOR THE EAST

Less than 24 hours after avoiding elimination in the Frontier League playoff semi-finals, Québec continued their momentum with a 5-1 victory over the Ottawa Titans at Stade Canac, giving them access to the final.

Pitcher Carlos Sano had the ball for the Capitales and came off very well with no runs allowed despite giving the opposition six walks in 5.1 innings of work. On the offensive end, Jonathan Lacroix and Ruben Castro led the team in scoring with two hits apiece.

Michael Austin, David Richardson and Samuel Adames have all contributed at the next generation level. The Capitales pitchers left no less than twelve Titans runners on the trails and avoided a different scenario for the troop of manager Patrick Scalabrini.

Québec will face the Schaumburg Boomers, the 2021 season champions. They swept their two-of-three series against the Washington Wild Things and finished the regular season with a record of 53 wins and 43 losses.

Here is the schedule for the Frontier League Championship Finals:

  • Wednesday September 14: Québec at Schaumburg
  • Thursday September 15: Québec at Schaumburg
  • Saturday, September 17: Schaumburg at Québec
  • Sunday September 18: Schaumburg at Québec (if necessary)
