TITANS WIN STREAK CONTINUES TO 6 GAMES
Tri-City vs Washington
The Tri-City ValleyCats (13-8) defeated the Washington Wild Things (13-9) by a score of 9-2 Tuesday night.
After a Jesus Lujano home run on the second pitch of the game, his second of the season, the 'Cats were out to an early lead, adding a pair of unearned runs in the 4th to take a three-run lead. Joey Gonzalez, who up until the 4th inning had not allowed a run, took the mound for the bottom of the fourth and worked himself into a bases loaded, no outs jam as the skies opened up. The game would enter a 48-minute rain delay before resuming around 9 PM EST.
Joey Gonzalez returned to the mound after the delay, and delivered seven straight strikes, registering two strikeouts, before allowing a 2-RBI double off the bat of Ian Walters. Gonzalez would respond with a strikeout of Alex Alvarez, avoiding any further damage. Gonzalez would work into the sixth inning, leaving the game with a final stat line of 5.1 IP, 92 P, 3 H, 2 ER, 8 K, including one looking punchout.
Following Gonzalez's exit, the Tri-City bats would once again heat up and provide additional run support, tallying 2 runs in the 7th, and 3 in the 8th.
The Tri-City bullpen would allow just 1 hit in 3.2 IP. The combined efforts of LHP Hunter Swift, RHP Adam Hofacket, RHP Brac Warren, and RHP Jake Dexter would hold the Wild Things scoreless following Gonzalez's exit, securing the win and sending their record to 13-8 on the season.

The Jackals fired the first shot in the top of the second inning, when Josh Rehwaldt smashed a two run homer to left, his fifth of the season. The Jackals added two more in the top of the third when Alfredo Marte belted a RBI single and Dalton Combs scored on a wild pitch.

Kenen Irizarry walked to start the rally and Jackson Valera followed with a single. Bryant Flete was walked to load the bases for Jared Mang who stroked a two run double down the line in left. A wild pitch plated the next two runs before Connor Owings gave Lake Erie the lead on a RBI double off the wall in right center.
The Crushers then scored seven times in the fourth inning on just two hits. Nick Cicci and Rodney Tennie were both plunked by a pitch to start the inning before Irizarry walked. Valera was then hit by a pitch to score the first run of the inning. Flete reached on a fielder's choice to score Tennie and Mang followed with a RBI single to right. Owings capped the big inning with a Grand Slam, his second of the season to give Lake Erie a 12-4 lead.
New Jersey plated three more in the fifth inning on a pair of homers. Todd Isaacs blasted a solo homer to center and Justin Wylie belted a two run shot to left, his seventh homer of the year. The Jackals pushed three more across in the sixth inning. Isaacs brought in the first run on a RBI single and Combs singled in the final two runs of the game.

Gateway vs Schuamburg
The Gateway Grizzlies fell behind against the Schaumburg Boomers in the early innings, but came back to take the lead and then expand it late, scoring six unanswered runs in a 6-2 victory at Wintrust Field on Tuesday night.
Matt Bottcher's solo home run and Blake Grant-Parks' two-out RBI double staked the Boomers to a 2-0 advantage in the bottom of the third inning, but after Schaumburg starter Blake Stelzer (1-2) held the Grizzlies off the board in the first four frames, Gateway pounced in the fifth. Clint Freeman hit a double with one out, and Jackson Pritchard followed with a game-tying, two-run home run to make the score 2-2.
But Gateway was not done there. With two outs, Andrew Penner and Breland Almadova hit singles, and Trevor Achenbach came up clutch with an RBI double to make it 3-2 Grizzlies. The Boomers would then threaten the lead, putting the tying run in scoring position in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings against the Gateway bullpen, but the combination of Andrew Cartier and Carson Cupo held the line.
After Cupo induced a big, inning-ending double play to get out of trouble in the seventh, the Grizzlies added on in the eighth, loading the bases with no one out before Jose Rosario reached on an infield single to drive in a run and make it 4-2, and Freeman hitting a sacrifice fly for a 5-2 advantage. The Grizzlies added a run in the ninth for the final 6-2 margin.
Gateway amassed 13 hits as a team in the game, out-hitting the Boomers 13-6, with Penner, Almadova, Achenbach, Rosario, and Abdiel Diaz all notching two hits on the night.
Florence vs Joliet
It was Joliet's night on the mound. Backed by a stellar seven innings pitched by Cam Aufderheide and completed by a scoreless two-inning save for Chris Roycroft, the Slammers beat the Florence Y'alls 4-2 Tuesday night at Duly Health and Care Field.
Aufderheide was dealing from start to finish. The righty retired the first 10 Y'alls batters he faced, including striking out the side in the second inning. He struck out the final two batters he faced to wrap up his outing with six total strikeouts. The lone blemish on his line was a two-run home run given up to Anthony Brocato in the sixth inning – the only offense Florence would get all night.
The Joliet (11-12) bats immediately backed Aufderheide's strong start with a three spot in the bottom of the first inning. After Florence starter Yonaiker Villalobos retired the first two batters, he allowed the next five to reach base, four via base hit. Lane Baremore drove in two with a double and Matt Burch followed with a RBI-single.
The Y'alls (7-14) pulled within a 3-2 score thanks to Brocato's shot in the sixth, but Joliet wasted no time getting a run back with a Phillip Steering line drive home run to left field to make it 4-2 in the bottom of the sixth. That closed the book on Villalobos after five-plus innings and four earned runs, three walks and one strikeout.
Yasel Santana struck out six batters in three scoreless innings of relief for the Y'alls. Alberti Chavez had two hits and has hit safely in 14 of 15 games played this year. Harrison DiNicola hit his eleventh double of the season. Brylie Ware had a pair of two-baggers for the Slammers.
