KANSAS CITY ROYALS SIGN JOLIET 3B PAXTON WALLACE

Third baseman Paxton Wallace, who finished the 2022 season with the Joliet Slammers, has signed with the Kansas City Royals.

Wallace signed with Joliet in late July.  He appeared in 18 games for the Slammers, hitting .343 with a .921 ops.  Wallace had four home runs and 11 RBI in 73 plate appearances while scoring 11 times.

Wallace spent the 2021 season with the Los Angeles Angels' organization, seeing action in 23 games for their California League affiliate, the Inland Empire 66ers.

A graduate of Wichita State University, Wallace was named All-Conference First Team for the American Athletic Conference in 2021 while also being selected as the Rawlings/ABCA Gold Glove winner at third base.  Wallace was an American Atlhetic Conference Academic All-Conference player for each of the three full seasons he played for the Shockers.  

Wallace becomes the third Joliet player from the 2022 season to have signed with a MLB organization, and the 38th Frontier League player to receive an opportunity with a Major League team in 2022.
