ALL-STARS L.P. PELLETIER AND MIGUEL CIENFUEGOS GARNER WEEKLY AWARDS

Trois-Rivières Aigles outfielder L.P. Pelletier and Québec pitcher Miguel Cienfuegos haven been awarded the Player and Pitcher of the Week awards for games of July 11-17. L.P. Pelletier had a dominating week at the plate for the Aigles, reaching base in 23 of his 32 plate appearances.

Pelletier hit .664 for the week with a 1.988 ops. He scored 12 runs, drove in 11, had three home runs, and stole two bases. Pelletier has helped Trois-Rivières to a five-game winning streak and has the Aigles just one game out of a playoff berth. Pelletier is in his second Frontier League season. He currently ranks second overall with a .378 batting average. Pelletier was a Post-Season Can-Am Conference All-Star for Équipe Québec in 2021, finishing fourth overall with a .328 batting average. He won the Player of the Week award for the week ending August 26, 2021. The Montreal native was a 20th round draft pick of the Houston Astros in 2016.

Miguel Cienfuegos made two states for the Capitales last week and did not allow an earned run over 12 innings of work. Cienfuegos struck out 11 batters while surrendering only one walk and six hits. His 1.80 ERA is the best mark in the Frontier League, while Cienfuegos is tied for second with seven wins. Cienfuegos made his professional debut in 2021, where he was teammates with Pelletier on the Atlantic Division winning Équipe Québec team.

The Leamington, Ontario native won the Pitcher of the Week award for the opening week of the 2022 season. Pelletier and Cienfuegos will represent the East Division in the Frontier League All-Star Game on Wednesday.
