SLUGGER DAGENAIS JOINS TROIS-RIVIÈRES
Power hitter Michel Dagenais will line up with the Trois-Rivières Aigles for the 2022 season. The former player for the Ducs de Longueuil in the Quebec Junior Elite Baseball League and Shawinigan Cascades in the Quebec Major Baseball League will be in his first season as a professional.
Dagenais, 24, has been making the eyes of Shawinigan supporters widen for almost two years. The infielder posted an incredible .422 batting average and an impressive .474 on-base average during his time in Energy City.
"Michel is one of the best athletes I have had the opportunity to see. He can be used at almost any defensive position. His batting power is unquestionable, but he will need to keep improving to perform in the pro ranks," explains Aigles manager Matthew Rusch.
Rusch expects a lot from the young Quebecer this year: "My goal is to help him give the best of himself, to help him develop his skills, and to put him in a position where he can attract the look of MLB scouts. I think he's ready to take it to the next level."
Dagenais therefore becomes the fourth Quebecer to sign with the Eagles. He thus joins his compatriots Louis-Philippe Pelletier, Raphaël Gladu and David Gauthier in the Trois-Rivières team.
