SCHAUMBURG'S SNYDER TO JOIN RAYS ORGANIZATION
The Schaumburg Boomers are pleased to announce that the Tampa Bay Rays have purchased the contract of right-handed pitcher Jack Snyder. Snyder is the fifth Frontier League player to sign with a Major League organization in 2022.
Snyder began his professional career as a reliever during the 2021 season for the Schaumburg Boomers. During the 2021 season, Snyder appeared in 14 games and 21 innings, where he had an ERA of 2.14 and 30 strikeouts. Snyder was a part of the 2021 Frontier League Championship-winning Boomers team under Jamie Bennett.
The Boomers have now sent four pitchers and pitching coach Connor Reed to MLB organizations from the 2021 Championship team. Jack Snyder (Rays), Aaron Rozek, Isaiah Rivera, Orlando Rodriguez (Twins), Connor Reed (Brewers).
"This is a well-deserved opportunity for Jack. He has worked very hard and had a really impressive rookie season with us last year. I know he will compete well and we are very excited for him," said Manager Jamie Bennett.
The Boomers return home to Wintrust Field in the spring looking to defend their 2021 Frontier League Championship.
