TRANSACTION DEADLINE CLOSES AS PLAYOFF RACES ARE APPROACHING

As the season is coming to a close within the next three weeks, today is the final day teams can make a transaction.

Clubs will be making their final additions to their final roster as each team tries to improve their team and finish strong and for other teams, make a playoff push.

With three weeks left in the season, the race within the divisions is close.

For the West Division, the Washington Wild Things are running away with the division with a lead of 8.5 games.

However, the race for the Wild Card is close with Schaumburg having the first wild card spot with the Evansville Otters holding the second wild card spot.

The rest of the west division teams are still mathematically in it and will look to make a run for that second wild card spot with the Joliet Slammers only 2 games behind, the Lake Erie Crushers 3.5 games behind, the Gateway Grizzlies 4.5 games behind, the Florence Y'alls 9 games behind, and the Windy City ThunderBolts 12 games behind.

For the East Division, the race is even tighter with the Quebec Capitales leading the division by only 3 games.

The Ottawa Titans hold the first wild card spot being in second place within the division, while the Tri-City ValleyCats hold the second wild card spot.

The other East division teams will look to make the end of season interesting in chasing the second wild card spot with the Sussex County Miners being a 0.5 game behind, the New York Boulders being 1 game behind, the Trois-Rivières Aigles being 2.5 games behind and the New Jersey Jackals being 4 games behind with the Empire State Greys being mathematically eliminated.

For the playoffs, the 2nd place team will host the 3rd place team in a one-game wild card match on Tuesday, September 6.

The wild card winners will host the division winners on Thursday, September 8 for the first game of a best-of-three series.  The division winners host games 2 and 3 on Saturday, September 10 and Sunday, September 11 (if necessary).

The best-of-five Frontier League Championship Series opens at the lower seeded team on Tuesday, September 15.   Game 2 is Wednesday, September 16.  The top overall seed, currently Washington, would host the final three games starting on Friday, September 18.

With the transactions closing today, it will determine whether the moves made between each of the teams is enough to guide them to a championship.
