CAPITALES WALK-OFF BOOMERS TO TAKE GAME 3

CAPITALES WALK-OFF BOOMERS TO TAKE GAME 3

After a victory worthy of a Hollywood scenario on Saturday night at Stade Canac, the Québec Capitales are now only one victory away from winning their first Frontier League championship!

The Schaumburg Boomers and the men of Patrick Scalabrini fought quite a battle in front of 4428 supporters gathered to encourage their favorite team.  The crowd was Québec's largest of the 2022 season.

The starting pitchers shone with their execution and the story of the game seemed to be the missed chances on both sides with men on the trails. The Capitales' Michael Austin allowed just one earned run and struck out eight batters in five innings of work.

After seeing the two teams exchange a two-run homer to tie the game at 2-2, former Capitales outfielder Blake Berry came to haunt his ex-teammates with a solo homer in the top of the 8th inning, giving the Boomers a 3-2 lead.

The visitors then put their best relievers to work, but the magic of Stade Canac and this 2022 edition of the Capitales was once again felt at the end of the 9th inning.

With two men on base, two outs and a two-ball count and two strikes against the designated hitter, Ruben Castro drove a ball into left field, a double that would score two runs and give his team an important victory. .

The fourth part of this three-of-five series continues tonight in Québec City and we invite you to come in large numbers to what could well be the crowning glory of the Capitales for this 2022 Frontier League season!
