BOOMERS' RIVERA TO JOIN TWINS ORGANIZATION
The Schaumburg Boomers are pleased to announce that the Minnesota Twins have purchased the contract of right-handed pitcher Isaiah Rivera.
Rivera began his professional career as a reliever during the 2021 season for the Schaumburg Boomers. During the 2021 season, Rivera appeared in 26 games and 57.1 innings, where he had an ERA of 5.02 and 62 strikeouts. Rivera was a part of the 2021 Frontier League Championship-winning Boomers team under Manager Jamie Bennett.
The Boomers have sent two players to MLB organizations in 2021 and 20 players to MLB organizations in the franchise's history. Rivera joins Orlando Rodriguez, Aaron Rozek, and former hitting coach Derek Shomon in the Minnesota organization.
"I am very excited about this opportunity for Isaiah. We definitely saw his potential last year and he has put in a ton of work. He is very deserving and we wish him the best," said Manager Jamie Bennett.
The Boomers return home to Wintrust Field in the spring looking to defend their 2021 Frontier League Championship.
