CANADIAN SLUGGER DADSON RETURNING TO TROIS-RIVIÈRES

The Trois-Rivières Aigles welcome the return of a power hitter from the 2023 edition! They signed Canadian infielder Brendon Dadson to a deal.

A native of Bowmanville, Ont., Dadson will be playing his fourth season in independent baseball next summer. After playing in the American Association in 2021 (Sioux City, Milwaukee, Fargo-Moorhead), the 26-year-old left-handed hitter moved to the Frontier League in 2022 (with the Ottawa Titans) before moving to Trois-Rivières last year.

In 83 games with the Birds in 2023, Dadson had 74 hits, including 23 doubles and 6 home runs, posting a .264 batting average and a .418 slugging percentage. As a bonus, he also drove in 45 runs in addition to scoring 50.

"Dadson's return for next season is very much appreciated. He is a hard worker who is able to combine contact and power at the plate. He's a very patient hitter and that allows him to hit the bases with consistency. Dadson will definitely be at the heart of our success this summer," said manager Matthew Rusch.

Dadson's signing joins outfielder Louis-Philippe Pelletier, infielders Dalton Combs, Brandon Hernandez and Edouard Savoie and pitchers Osman Gutierrez, Didier Vargas, Logan Hofmann, Hernando Mejia and Michell Miliano ahead of the 2024 season.

The Aigles will begin their 11th season history – their 3rd in the Frontier League – on May 10, 2024 when they visit the Sussex County Miners. As for the home opener at Stade Quillorama , it is scheduled for May 17, 2024 against the newest member of the circuit, the New England Knockouts.
