A 6TH SEASON FOR BROWN WITH THE EAGLES

A 6TH SEASON FOR BROWN WITH THE EAGLES

Trois-Rivières, April 14, 2023 – One of the most famous faces at Quillorama Stadium will be back next summer! Manager Matthew Rusch has signed veteran Steve Brown, who will play his sixth season in an Eagles uniform in 2023.

The 36-year-old adopted Trois-Rivières native ranks first in the franchise for the number of games played in the regular season (426). Last year, in 80 games, the Colombian-born man distinguished himself offensively with a .288 batting average and 80 hits, including 19 doubles and 13 home runs. His 68 runs also represented a Eagles high.

"I'm very excited about the return of Steve Brown to our roster. He is a real leader for us. Last year, after a few years of hiatus from professional baseball, he silenced his critics by behaving like the fearsome hitter we have always known. When he played well, we usually won the game. I have confidence that he will be able to repeat his exploits this season. He is the ultimate example of the veteran, always ready to work with the youngest to pave the way for them. I expect other good seasons from Steve Brown with the Eagles," boasts the Eagles manager.

The Eagles' training camp will get under way towards the end of April for the franchise's second season in the Frontier League. The first game is scheduled for May 12 as the Eagles visit the Tri-City ValleyCats. Then, the home opener will take place on May 23 when the Lake Erie Crushers will be at Quillorama Stadium.
