AVON, Ohio — The Lake Erie Crushers scored their second walk off victory of the season at Mercy Health Stadium on Friday night, as they came from behind to defeat the New York Boulders, 4-3.

The win for the Crushers (18-25) snapped a four game home losing streak, while the loss for the Boulders (23-18) was their 13th in 21 road games this season.

It was a single to left field which came on an 0-2 pitch with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to score Sam Frontino.

Starting pitching was very strong on both sides. After four scoreless innings, the Boulders got on the board first in the top of the fifth when Giovanny Garbella blasted a solo homer to right, his fifth of the season.

Todd Isaacs Jr. reached on a walk, before Harris made his way to first on a fielder's choice. With two outs and runners at the corners, Watkins singled Ryan Munoz's 0-2 pitch to left field to score Frontino and win the game.

Both teams were held scoreless through the first two innings before Tri-City got on the board in the third. Jakob Goldfarb doubled off John Baker. Goldfarb swiped third for his 13th consecutive steal to begin the 2023 campaign. Jaxon Hallmark plated a run with a groundout to provide the ValleyCats with a 1-0 lead.

Nilo Rijo advanced Estrada to third with a single. Rijo stole second, and Estrada came home on a throwing error from Cale Jones to cut the deficit to 4-1.

The Jackals tacked on another run in the fifth. James Nelson doubled, and Keon Barnum singled him to third. Estrada lifted a sac fly to make it a 4-2 game.

New Jersey nearly pulled ahead in the seventh. Elliot Carney allowed a walk to Phillip Ervin, and Barnum. Greg Veliz gave up a walk to Josh Rehwaldt to put a runner at each square base. Estrada collected his second sac fly of the night to trim the deficit to 4-3. Veliz hit Marte with a pitch, but induced a groundout from Torel to get out of a bases-loaded, two-out jam.

The Jackals had a chance to strike in the eighth. Rijo singled off Coleman Huntley, and was replaced at first base after Ti'Quan Forbes reached on a fielder's choice.
