VALLEYCATS PAVIN PARKS AND DAN BEEBE TAKE WEEKEND AWARDS
JULY 17TH, 2023 - After a week of celebration in Crestwood. The Frontier League returned to the field Friday for a round of weekend matchups and nobody rung in the second half like our weekend award winners Pavin Parks and Dan Beebe of the Tri-City ValleyCats.
Cats shortstop and Kent State product Pavin Parks began the second half with a bang, going 3 for 3 including three RBI and a run scored as the ValleyCats beat the Otters 6-1 in the opener. Parks followed up his hot start to the weekend with another productive night on Saturday, adding another hit, RBI, stolen base and base on balls to his season totals as the Otters leveled the series.
On Sunday, Parks and Pitcher of the Weekend Dan Beebe went for the series win against the Otters. Beebe held up his end of the deal with a stellar performance on the mound, going 7.2 innings on 98 pitches, stirking out eight while allowing no runs. Parks went 2 for 4 with another pair of RBI as well as a run of his own as Parks and the offense staked Beebe to his third win of the year. After taking that series, the ValleyCats go to Ottawa on Tuesday.
