MICHAEL LARSON NAMED JOHN DITTRICH MINOR LEAGUE EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR

Schaumburg Boomers' Executive Vice President / General Manager Michael Larson has been honored with the John Dittrich Minor League Executive of the Year by the Pitch and Hit Club of Chicago.

Originally from Minnesota, Michael Larson's career path in sports has lead him from Minnesota (Alexandria Beetles '05-'06) to Idaho (Idaho Falls Chukars '07) to North Dakota (Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks '08-'17) before making a home in Chicagoland with the Schaumburg Boomers since the fall of 2017. In five years leading the Boomers, Larson has seen attendance records shattered as well as three playoff appearances, two championship series appearances, and one Frontier League Championship ('21). Larson has been honored by the Schaumburg Business Association as Rookie of the Year ('18) as well as the Boomers organization being recognized as Business of the Year for the baseball-less 2020 year as the team pivoted operations to other events and served as the alternate site/taxi squad location for the Chicago White Sox ('20 & '21). Larson has also been named the Frontier League's Bob Wolfe Award – Executive of the Year three times in five seasons ('19, '21, '23).

Larson lives in the Schaumburg area and enjoys spending time with his wife, Danielle, and three kids – Bobby, Andrew, and Abigail. Larson freely acknowledges that Danielle is a saint for having stuck with him through seventeen baseball seasons.
