CLUTCH HITTING PROPELS CAPITALES TO CHAMPIONSHIP SEREIS

The Quebec Capitales used clutch hitting throughout the game to defeat the New Jersey Jackals and advance to the Frontier League Championship Series.

Despite being outhit 14-12 by the Jackals, Quebec put up 15 runs to cruise to a 15-6 victory and win the East Divisional Series 2 games to 1.  

For the second secutive night, the offense was spread throughout the Capitales lineup.  Eight different Capitales drove in runs, lead by Justin Gideon's three RBI on three base hits.  Ruben Castro reached base for all five plate appearances, scoring four times.  Jesmuel Valentin and Tommy Seidl each scored three runs.

Ruben Ramirez earned the win after allowing only two earned runs in five innings of work before turning the rest of the game over to relievers Kenny Pierson, Elliot Carney, Evan Rutckyj, and Relief Pitcher of the Year Frank Moscatiello.  

New Jersey's offense was led by Alfredo Marte and Keon Barnum's three hits and Marte's 3 RBI.

With the win, Quebec advances to the Frontier League Championship Series for the second consecutive season.  The Capitales will host games 1 and 2 on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the West Divisional Series winner hosting games 3, 4, and 5.
