THE AIGLES AND THE BECANCOUR SMELTER PARTNER TO BENEFIT WOMEN'S BASEBALL

Trois-Rivières, 17 August 2023 - The Trois-Rivières Aigles and the Bécancour Smelter (ABI) are proud to announce a partnership that will boost the growth of women's baseball in Mauricie. Thanks to this agreement, the Aigles and the ABI will award a $1500 scholarship to a player from the Canadian Baseball Academy (CBA) for women. In addition, under this partnership, CBA representatives will have the privilege of using the Aigles' facilities for training. A renowned employer in the region, ABI becomes a major partner of the Aigles and will also have a section of Stade Quillorama in its image. "Not only is the sport important to us, but we are also pleased to see that women's baseball is becoming increasingly popular. It is important for us to support these young women who want to flourish through a more masculine sport. It is therefore with great pleasure that the ABI wishes to offer a helping hand to young baseball players and the Trois-Rivières Aigles," said Nancy Provencher, Director of Financial Services at the ABI. For his part, the general manager of the Aigles, Jérôme Duchesneau, is delighted to be able to associate his organization with that of the ABI. "It is very motivating for the Aigles and also for all women's baseball in the region to see a company of this caliber choose to partner with our team but also with the promotion of women's baseball. Both organizations will certainly benefit from this partnership," said Aigles General Manager Jérôme Duchesneau.
