KNOCKOUTS ADD ROOKIE LHP LUKE WILLIAMSON

The New England Knockouts have signed left-handed pitcher Luke Williamson to a Frontier League contact. Williamson was a free agent prior to joining the team, and is the first left-handed pitcher signed by the Knockouts.

Williamson is coming off a quick stint in the Frontier League. The left-handed pro debuted with the Florence Y'alls last season, pitching in one game for 3 ⅓ innings. Williamson also struck out four during that appearance. Williamson joined the Y'alls in late August and would stay until the conclusion of the 2023 season.

Before making it to the pros, Williamson specialized his bullpen abilities in the NCAA. His time began at Gardner-Webb University, playing with the Runnin' Bulldogs for two seasons. Williamson finished his first two years of college with 16 appearances, 17 ⅓ innings pitched, and 19 strikeouts. He then transferred to Union University for his final two seasons. There, he started in all 22 appearances, throwing over 115 innings, and striking out over 130 batters.

Williamson is a native of Canal Winchester, Ohio. He also attended high school in his hometown, playing all four years of baseball and two years of basketball. In his senior year of high school, Williamson finished with a 1.17 ERA with 60 strikeouts. He was named Ohio Capital Conference All-Conference three times.
