FRONTIER FIVE: PLAYOFF PUSH
AUGUST 25TH, 2023- Let's get right into the rankings this time,
5- Tri-City ValleyCats
The Cats have a pivotal weekend set with the Boulders over the next three nights. This can almost make or break the Cats season, sweep and they've basically solidified themselves as one of the east's three playoff teams. Get swept and they'll be on the outside looking in, a game back of the Boulders, even if they split two to one or one to two, they'll still be locked in a battle with the Boulders over the next week.
4- Schaumburg Boomers
Speaking of pivotal weekend sets, the Boomers have one coming up at home against the Gateway Grizzlies. First place in the West is still up for grabs, although Gateway has a three game lead in hand. A sweep by the Boomers and all of the sudden the final week gets a lot more interesting out west.
3- Gateway Grizzlies
See above. For what seems like the whole season, the Grizzlies have been at the top of the west. They've already clinched their spot in the playoffs, but Steve Brook and co. won't feel the job is done until they wrap up the one seed.
2- Quebec Capitales
They split their midweek set with Tri-City, one, one and one, (mother nature taking game three). Ever since their 14 game run to reach the peak of the east, they have struggled to make it exclusively theirs, as of writing this, that remains true, as they still share the same record with the Jackals.
1- New Jersey Jackals
The lineup depth is unmatched, Nelson, Barnum, Rehawaldt, Marte, Toral, Estrada and more. I know much has been said about their stadium but still, you don't hit .400 by only doing it at home (looking at you James Nelson).
