KNOCKOUTS ADD DOMINICAN HURLER LINSE CARVAJAL

The New England Knockouts have signed right-handed pitcher Linse Carvajal to a Frontier League contract. Carvajal was a professional free agent prior to signing.

Carvajal, 25 years old, comes to the Knockouts with MLB-affiliated experience. Prior to the Frontier League, Carvajal was in the Tampa Bay Rays system, pitching for their rookie squad in the Florida Complex League. He made seven total appearances in a Rays uniform, striking out seven in just over seven innings pitched. During his time in Florida, Carvajal also played with some familiar faces in Major League Baseball, including Nick Anderson, Brendan McKay, and Ji-Man Choi. Carvajal was released from his FCL contract in July of 2022.

Before Tampa Bay, Carvajal was briefly signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. He would not make an appearance for the Pirates, but would spend time training in their facilities with the DSL Pirates2 Roster.

Carvajal left the Pirates organization in June of 2018. Caravajal hails from Barahona, one of the largest port cities in the Dominican Republic. He spent several years playing semi-professional baseball in the Dominican before signing with Pittsburgh in 2018.

The Knockouts are set to open their inaugural season on Friday, May 10th against the Ottawa Titans. Tickets for opening day can be purchased at https://tickets.knockoutsbaseball.com
