A FORMER BLUE JAYS AND PADRES PROSPECT JOINS THE AIGLES!

Trois-Rivières, April 25, 2023 – Manager Matthew Rusch continues to build his formidable roster for the 2023 season of the Trois-Rivières Aigles in the Frontier League. His most recent acquisition: outfielder Rodrigo Orozco from Panama, who has nearly 500 games of experience in affiliated baseball.
A former Toronto Blue Jays and San Diego Padres prospect, Orozco even played 26 games at the AAA level in 2019. Last summer, he played for the Ottawa Titans, posting a .288 average, slamming 89 home runs, including 7 home runs, and producing 41 runs in 87 games. This spring, Orozco was also part of Panama's team at the World Baseball Classic. "Orozco has a lot of experience. He performed well with Ottawa last year, both at bat and defensively. I took the opportunity to add a dynamic, fast player who gets very good contact at bat. I expect him to be our starter in right field. In addition, he was part of the Panama team at the World Classic so he is already in great shape, "boasts the manager of the Aigles. The newcomer will complete the Aigles' quartet in the outfield, along with Louis-Philippe Pelletier, Steve Brown and Nate Scantlin. The Aigles' training camp will begin on April 30 in preparation for the franchise's second season in the Frontier League. Game 12 is scheduled for May 12 when the Aigles visit the Tri-City ValleyCats. Then, the home opener will take place on May 23 when the Lake Erie Crushers will visit Stade Quillorama.
