EAST DIVISION TIEBREAK SCENARIOS
SEPTEMBER 2ND, 2023 - The 2023 Frontier League season is barreling down the home stretch, with five teams still alive in the East with only two games to play.
As of 10:30 EST on September 2nd, the standings look like this,
1. Quebec Capitales, 58 - 35
2. New Jersey Jackals, 58 - 35
3. New York Boulders, 54 - 40
4. Sussex County Miners, 53 - 40
5. Tri-City ValleyCats, 53 - 40
Lets talk about the battle for the first seed, Quebec won the season series 6-3 giving them the tiebreaker over New Jersey, so if the Capitales and Jackals finish with the same record, Quebec will have the advantage.
The battle for the third and final spot is more complicated, the Boulders can however make things less complicated, if they win the next two days, they make the playoffs no matter what the ValleyCats and Miners do.
The Boulders will play 96 games while the Miners and ValleyCats will only play 95, this means Boulders can't end up tied with either.
If the Miners and ValleyCats end up tied, the Miners hold the tiebreaker.
